SESSION 2: SONGWRITING CAMP Open to anyone and everyone AGES 10-12//June 24-28//9-3 PM

Location: The main room at the Launchpad in Carbondale

Join us as we explore the creative side of music making. We will spend the week learning about the basic building blocks of songwriting including how to generate lyrics, how to add music to your words, and how to arrange a song. To participate in this camp/workshop, you only need a desire to learn, no instrument necessary; however if you do play an instrument, please bring it along.

Tuition and Scholarships: $425 non-members of Carbondale Arts $400 members of Carbondale Arts (payment plans and scholarships are available) Spaces for students will only be reserved when tuition is paid. Checks can be made out to Carbondale Arts. More information will be sent once you fill out the application. Scholarship funding courtesy of Jazz Aspen Snowmass is available. Please let us know if you need support with funding or would like to be on a payment plan. We have full and partial scholarships. There is a place to fill out payment plan and scholarship information on the application.

Covid Considerations: We will follow the most currentC DC guidelines to ensure the safety of our students. We have rented the large open space at the Launchpad in Carbondale and will leave windows and doors open.

Local performer and music educator, Natalie Spears, is excited to dive into the songwriting process with the creative youth of Carbondale. Her education style weaves together a background in private music instruction, outdoor education, and performance. She loves songwriting as a vehicle for expression and looks forward to hearing more voices of budding songwriters in the Roaring Fork Valley. 

Artista local y educadora de la música, Natalie Spears, espera entregarse al proceso de componer música junta con la juventud creativa de Carbondale. Su estilo de enseñar es una combinación de su fondo en la instrucción privada de la música, educación al aire libre, y las lecciones que ha aprendido siendo música.
